Abogado de familia Maripán anuncia acciones civiles contra hidroeléctrica por tragedia en Pilmaiquén
Responsabilizan a empresa por no alertar crecida del río
El abogado Ricardo Bravo Cornejo, representante de Danitza Maripán, hija de una de las víctimas de la tragedia ocurrida en el río Pilmaiquén, confirmó que se preparan acciones civiles contra la empresa hidroeléctrica que opera en la zona.

Según el jurista, la compañía no informó oportunamente sobre la crecida del río, lo que habría contribuido al fatal desenlace durante la ceremonia mapuche encabezada por la machi Millaray Huichalaf.

“No se trata solo de determinar responsabilidades penales, sino también civiles. Creemos que la hidroeléctrica incurrió en omisiones graves al no advertir el riesgo”, declaró Bravo Cornejo.
Querella criminal por homicidio con dolo eventual y obstrucción
El abogado explicó que la acción penal interpuesta en el Juzgado de Garantía de Río Bueno busca esclarecer la verdad y establecer responsabilidades en los delitos de homicidio con dolo eventual y obstrucción a la investigación.
“La querella no está dirigida exclusivamente contra la machi Huichalaf, sino contra todos quienes puedan tener algún grado de responsabilidad penal en los hechos”, precisó.
Bravo Cornejo recalcó que, además de la acción penal, se avanza en una demanda civil vinculada directamente con la omisión de medidas de seguridad por parte de la hidroeléctrica.
Falta de medidas de resguardo en el ritual
Según los antecedentes aportados por la familia Maripán, el día del ritual no se adoptaron precauciones básicas frente al aumento del caudal del río.
El abogado sostuvo que, pese a la evidente crecida de las aguas, la ceremonia continuó bajo la dirección de la machi Huichalaf, lo que derivó en una reacción desesperada por parte del padre de su representada.
“Mi representada relata que su padre, al ver el peligro inminente, se lanzó al río para intentar salvar una vida, y lamentablemente terminó siendo arrastrado por la corriente”, señaló Bravo Cornejo.
Posible negligencia de la hidroeléctrica
El representante legal insistió en que la empresa hidroeléctrica tiene responsabilidad civil en la tragedia, por no haber alertado a la comunidad sobre los riesgos de crecida.
“No se tomaron los resguardos necesarios. No hubo carteles, señaléticas ni advertencias sobre el aumento del caudal. La hidroeléctrica no informó a la población, y eso constituye una falta grave”, afirmó.
El abogado añadió que la compañía, mediante comunicados posteriores, intentó atribuir la responsabilidad a otras instituciones, sin reconocer sus propias omisiones.
Presiones tras el hecho y apoyo del Ministerio Público
Consultado sobre eventuales presiones hacia la hija del fallecido, el abogado fue enfático en señalar que estas provinieron de personas cercanas a la machi, y no de comunidades mapuche.
“La presión vino del entorno directo de la machi. En lugar de preocuparse por el estado emocional de Danitza, se centraron en la declaración y en cómo afectaría la investigación”, indicó.
Finalmente, Bravo Cornejo valoró la actitud del Ministerio Público y confirmó que la investigación avanza con transparencia.
“Estamos a la espera de la formalización. La Fiscalía ha mostrado claridad y compromiso con el objetivo central: buscar justicia para las víctimas”, concluyó.
